About the Image(s)

I took this image a few months ago at a local nature preserve.
I liked the combination of trees, water and the disappearing sun.

Beautiful sky. The only thing that I would try to do differently is straighten the image. I know horizons are not always straight, but I think they are more appealing to the eye when they are.   Posted: 02/06/2021 15:01:50

There is a very pleasing sky in this image and I like the way the sun is surround by branches and its reflection just comes in the smooth water. I would preferred to see the far bank of the lake looking level.   Posted: 02/07/2021 02:45:36

Ditto, sorry I know the lake probably curves, but we tend to get visually confused see water with tilted lines. This is gorgeous light; and nice reflections. Wonderful. I would suggest the gradient of blue in the sky could be slightly lighter.   Posted: 02/09/2021 13:14:33

As so many others have noted there is such a thing is reality level and visual level. Since you viewer was not present at the capture all they know is what they see. It is generally preferred to make an image visually level so the your viewer feel comfortable.   Posted: 02/09/2021 13:32:03

An interesting comment. However, I do not photograph to make a viewer comfortable. I photograph for myself. So, when I think the horizon is straight enough, the horizon is straight.   Posted: 02/09/2021 14:52:56

I firmly believe that the maker is always right. Pardon me.   Posted: 02/09/2021 18:24:25

Lovely clouds. SOme great colour highlight in leaves. Good variety of tree branch directions. The good light on the lake is well framed. Perhaps the grass could be cropped off up to the ball as to me it does not help the image.   Posted: 02/17/2021 06:10:54

My bad. I didn't even notice the horizon issue. Love the light of the sun in the pond and in the clouds. I might have cropped to a portrait focusing on the center and tree branches hugging the sun. It seems like a lot of darkness on the sides but just me. Very peaceful shot.   Posted: 02/18/2021 09:39:21

I like the overall image and the horizontal crop, perhaps a little less on the bottom.   Posted: 02/19/2021 14:23:05
