About the Image(s)

This image was taken in September at our local Renaissance Festival. I sat
down at a table and joined this young lady for lunch. The temperature that
day was near 100 and I am sure her makeup was melting off. I took several
shots of her with my camera set to aperture priority. The F stop was 5.6
and the camera was set to a focal length of 135mm. The background was
nicely blurred except for the pole that held up the tent we were sitting
under. In photoshop I blurred the pole to come up with the second image. I
like that I got her drinking water. To me that added to the image. She has
a bit of a green cast to her skin color that was from the tent, but that
doesn't bother me.

Good capture and you have cleaned up the background perfectly !   Posted: 10/13/2018 12:48:23

You have done a good job of removing the distractions from the background. I find the pointy ear looks rather un-natural and once seen keeps drawing the eye, I would suggest cropping some of it off to create a more natural looking ear line. The colour cast is mostly yellow and can be reduced by selectively reducing the yellow saturation.   Posted: 10/16/2018 10:34:47

Great job of cleaning up the background. I wish there was something other than her ear indicating a Renaissance fair. It would be within expectations then.
Jon's point is well taken about the yellow cast.
I love the clarity, your effort in the heat and the fact her butterfly is still on her face.   Posted: 10/20/2018 11:18:57

Cleaning up the background is a big help!
Jon makes some excellent observations and I completely agree.
Interesting image, perhaps cropped a little too tight.   Posted: 10/25/2018 22:19:55

The colour cast bothers me as well. I find the ear intriguing and as it seems a key part of the young ladies makeup, I would have liked to have seen more of it. Interesting subject.   Posted: 10/26/2018 04:12:49
