About the Image(s)

I saw this flower (unfortunately I do not know its name), in a pond at a local botanic garden. I was fascinated by its center. In Lightroom, I cropped it, intensified the colors and placed a slightly dark vignette around the center.

Your cropping of the sides and the the increase in saturation has helped to concentrate attention on the centre of the flower. I feel that there are 2 green leaves at the top and right that would have been better left at their original saturation level, as they draw the eye. I would also increase the contrast on the stigma to make it a stronger centre of attention.   Posted: 10/16/2018 10:05:38

I like the crispness and clarity of the original photo. I would keep the the green leaves at the right also.
This is a Lotus Flower technically called Nelumbo nucifera. Very nice shot of one of my favorites.   Posted: 10/20/2018 11:29:09

I think the technique is solid and has helped the photo, but it is not a very attractive flower. All the little brown spots are a little distracting.   Posted: 10/25/2018 22:25:40

It is a little too soft and noisy for me. The yellow around the edges of the centre is an improvement. It would have been nice if that broken white leaf was not overlapping the green centre.   Posted: 10/26/2018 04:37:49

I have a problem with this image. The flower is past its prime. The brown spots are a big distraction to me. My eye goes to that broken white leaf in the center of the image.   Posted: 10/30/2018 18:26:57
