About the Image(s)

The picture was taken at the fall pumpkin fest for the Elementary school where two of my grandchildren attend. This pumpkin was at the entrance to the festival. The picture was taken with my D200 and processed with Lightroom cloud version. I made some structure adjustments to straighten things vertically and added some texture and some cropping. I like the way the rail sweeps into the picture helping to direct my eye. Unfortunately the change in structure ended up cutting some of rail out of the picture.

Very inviting scene and cute pumpkin. The colors and lighting are warm and perfect for fall. I especially like the rough textures in the back column and walls. It nicely contrasts the smooth areas in the image. I would try editing to expand and fill in on left. Doing so might bring back a little more of the nice railing. I don't use Lightroom, but it must have tools for such edits. Others here may be helpful in that area.   Posted: 10/09/2019 14:43:53

Guy, The colors are great, rich and inviting. I am not bothered by the cut off rail on the left as my eye can work out where it goes. Your picture tells the story for this Halloween month.   Posted: 10/11/2019 12:17:18

There is a bit too much in the picture. The story is about the pumpkin and the flowers. I would try cropping severely on the left and bottom and just enough on the op to make a square format, which should reduce unneeded details on the top. The remaining rail becomes a border that keeps the eye to the subject. As it is now the rail leading line to nothing in particular. The color and texture is just great and in my opinion is all you need for a really engagin photograph   Posted: 10/14/2019 17:33:03

The picture tells a story based on a time period. I am not bothered by the cropped railing, as it is just a border element for framing anyway. I believe I would like to see some cropping of the bottom (definitely quite a bit below handle of the railing). Sorry for being so late on comments; I somehow overlooked yours.   Posted: 10/24/2019 13:02:08

I agree with others that some cropping would enhance the picture. Specially bothering for me is the white keypad (bell?) on the left, which would go away with cropping. Also, some cropping from the bottom would help focus on the main subject, which is perfectly lit and tells a nice story.   Posted: 10/28/2019 21:28:49
