Bay of Fundy by Mervyn Hurwitz

October 2019 - Bay of Fundy

About the Image(s)

The Bay of Fundy, between Nova Scotia and New Brunswick in Canada boasts the most extreme tides in the world.
When I returned 6 hours later, the water level was was right up at the top of the dock and this boat could easily be reached from the dock.

Love it. What a story it tells. Those are wild tides. Imagining the tiny boat in the mud rising all the way to the dock! Beautiful capture, great colors. I see nothing needed.   Posted: 10/04/2019 09:42:46

At first I had incorrectly thought that the gate on left should be cropped as an initial reaction, but removing it does not improve the image, and more importantly it contributes to the story of this image. I like what you caught here, and whatever post processing fits here. The only minor suggestion I have is to consider adding a little more contrast to the sky.   Posted: 10/04/2019 13:26:39

Hi Mervyn: What a beautiful image! It reminds me my photo-trip many years ago. This area of the world doesn't seem to change. I would change a thing. You have an excellent eye photographically. Thanks for the memories. Sincerely, **Rick**   Posted: 10/05/2019 00:33:26

An image with a very good composition that tells a story. In this regard, I won't change anything. However, I would try to make the red of the shack a little lighter and more vibrant, as well as the bottom part of the boat. That's all that I can suggest.   Posted: 10/08/2019 21:34:21

Hi Mervyn; great shot. You can look at this image all day long.from the sand bottom to the top of the building The variation of colors make this a great image.   Posted: 10/10/2019 09:47:27

I love this photograph. All t he leading lines work together to carry the view to the horizon. The blue of the sky seems untrue to me.I would try darjening the blue ad adjusting the saturation. It seems to me to be too light and over saturated at the same time. Bob's suggestion to increase contrast might do the trick   Posted: 10/14/2019 17:00:20
