About the Image(s)
Here is my picture for this month. It was taken at the Peoria, Il zoo. When I was processing this I was doing it with a 13 year old granddaughter showing her how I do postprocessing hoping to get her more interested in photography and processing. Unfortunately did not keep track of all the steps I took. I used Lightroom, Photoshop and Topaz to get the image. The picture was taken with my Nikon D200 at ISO 100, 1/50, and F8.0 Focal length was 179mm with my 18-200 zoom telephoto lens. This was basically a fun project. Also attached is the original picture.

That is a wild looking bird! I love it. It looks, at first, like pen & pencil art, then you see the sharp metallics. I wouldn't make any changes, unless you can define the top beak to match the bottom. I hope your granddaughter catches the 'bug' through your talent and creative abilities.   Posted: 10/06/2018 10:44:23
Much more interesting (and fun) than the original. My first reaction was wondering if the background could have been darker to make the frizzes stand out more.   Posted: 10/09/2018 07:51:31

Sure love this creation ! My only suggestion would be to add a thin white border...   Posted: 10/13/2018 12:46:21
I'll give it a try and thanks for the suggestion.   Posted: 10/16/2018 16:16:57

Amazing final result! The original is OK, but the post-processing produced a unique image that looks like a copper etching. I really don't have anything to add or comment, just congratulate you on an excellent job.   Posted: 10/14/2018 12:12:17

Guy, you have taken a good but ordinary picture of this bird and turned it into a work of art. Well done! I hope your granddaughter was inspired and learned from you that day.   Posted: 10/16/2018 14:02:46

This is indeed, as Mervyn noted, a work of art. Nothing could be added to improve this image. Well done! I can only add what a pity the details of its production have slipped your mind.   Posted: 10/23/2018 08:09:43
