About the Image(s)

I was two weeks in April in Nassau (Bahamas) for work. It sounds much better than it really is. Not many photo ops; in part because there was too much work, but also because the city is not particularly beautiful. Anyway, one Saturday morning I walked around trying to capture some of the few colorful houses in downtown. I got several pictures of this house, including the full structure. Here I concentrated on the geometric forms of the stairs and the rail, and the contrast between the white and blue colors. Very few post-processing, just opening up a little the shadows. Technical specifications: 160mm. lens, 1/125 sec. at f/14, ISO 400, handheld.

Very cool. Vibrant color............especially appreciate the subtle shadows on the top on the steps. Lots of different textures, also.   Posted: 06/04/2018 08:18:30

I like the simplicity of this image, with the strong colors, diagonal lines and circles in the rail. Well seen, Jose. I'm pleased that you did not try to show us a picture from that awful straw market!   Posted: 06/11/2018 12:33:54

Nice as an abstract with fantastic blues. Simple but bold. The geometric opposites are interesting, but the textures catch my eye first which I find most pleasing about the image.   Posted: 06/12/2018 12:36:28

Even though this is an abstract image, this would not work in B&W. It is the color that gives it the impact. A lot of nice repeating patterns that make this image happen. Color and exposure work for me.   Posted: 06/12/2018 13:55:53
