About the Image(s)

For the past month, we and some neighbors have been enjoying large construction equipment in our backyards as the city works to prevent erosion from washing away their sewer line. From my deck, I caught this worker cutting through the concrete blowing up the dust.

I like the way you captured the immensity of the equipment compared with the person, the fence, and especially the lawnmower. Also the grinding dust helps convey the conditions for the worker.   Posted: 05/15/2020 16:27:15

I would have missed the lawn more if Audrey had not pointed it out; I was focused on the dust and the fact that the man was not wearing a mask...This is a great PJ image; your local paper might be interested in this one.   Posted: 05/18/2020 10:45:20

A great shot! The dust cloud adds to convey the mood of this hard-working man. I cropped a little from the left of the frame to remove the black hose and offset the man away from the middle of the image.   Posted: 05/19/2020 11:16:26

Very impactful with great composition. The man, mower, and bucket make a great triangle. The dust adds a dynamic effect. I agree with Abe on cropping the left side.   Posted: 05/22/2020 11:02:52
