Narcissus by Ruth Holt

March 2020 - Narcissus

About the Image(s)

Spring is fast approaching; Red Bud trees are in full bloom and wild flowers are starting to peek out at the world!

"Narcissus" is actually a winter flower. This one was taken in my yard 2-16-2020 with my phone camera. Opened and resized in APS-CS-6. Adjustments were shadows/highlights, clone out some dead debris, select>sharpen some of the yellow, vibrance, variations> darker, and sharpen overall image. Framed. Saved for Web.

It's lovely to see spring flowers already. We probably won't get them for a month. I like the colors and the way the flowers fill the frame. I do think it looks like the image was over-sharpened - there are sharp bright edges around all the parts of the flowers; and also perhaps a bit too much noise reduction because the petal details are so smooth.   Posted: 03/08/2020 14:42:57

Nice capture. It is sharp all the way from front to back. The composition is good and color appear true and beautiful. I would like to see some differential brightness in part of the flowers.   Posted: 03/18/2020 22:51:14

Bright and colorful. I agree with Audrey about the sharpening and noise reduction.   Posted: 03/19/2020 14:04:14
