About the Image(s)

This very large (about 4") very green caterpillar was strolling along in the parking lot at our local market. Striking enough on his own, the most remarkable thing was that the fly was in constant motion keeping the same distance from the caterpillar while moving from the head down one side then back to the head and around to the other side and back as they danced their way across the stones. I grabbed my cell phone and got quite a few poses. Why I didn’t think to get a video I will never figure out ” just not something that comes to mind for me. But it would have been great. I think the caterpillar might be a hornworm or hawk moth larva of some sort.

I simply cloned out a spot or two on the stones, and adjusted the brightness of the green and yellow. The thumbnails show some of the other poses.

I like this shot but I would clone out the white spot and zoom in even more to concentrate of the worm !   Posted: 08/10/2019 15:52:51

I loved the pattern on the back of the caterpillar so I removed all the other elements to focus on that. (This was a quick edit.) You can decide if you like it.   Posted: 08/14/2019 12:07:43
