About the Image(s)

Taken at a local greenhouse using a 100mm macro lens. Not sure of the settings due to a recent computer change. Processed in LR. Not a lot of processing other then basic adjustments for highlights, shadows, clarity, whites, blacks and sharpening.

Nice job capturing such great details of the pollen. Color-wise, the purple petals and yellow pollen contrast with each other very nicely. I find my eyes getting a distracted by the green stem of the other flower in the background on the left. I tried to de-saturate it and lighten it a bit, but my attempts were unsuccessful. Also, the center of the flower is a bit close to the edge for me, also leading my eyes away from the pollen. Maybe it were possible to frame it to leave out or minimize the other flower and give a bit more room on the right? Nice picture!   Posted: 07/12/2017 16:07:18

I love the colors in this photo. It would be nice if you could have gotten the shot without the other flower in the background, but it's still a nice photo. I do agree with Lona about the center being a bit close to the right edge.   Posted: 07/15/2017 21:28:35

Macro images can be hard to do. I agree with the two comments above about the composition and the blurry colors.   Posted: 07/18/2017 09:56:22

Great shot. You did a good job of controlling the depth of field on the pollen which I think is the story. The colors are great, but the green and yellows are distracting. I tried cropping it which helped but the issue of being close to the right side is not resolved.   Posted: 07/24/2017 11:51:04
