About the Image(s)

It is an experimental image. I used glowing edges in the Photoshop Filter Gallery to find edges and made them black and white. I also adjusted the background to black. The photo was taken during my African trip a few years ago and the details are as follows:
Camera: 5D Mark 4
Lens: Canon 100-400
Focal length: 310 mm
Exposure: 1/600 Sec, f/7.1, ISO 1250
Mode: Manual
Metering: Spot metering

Sam,thank you for showing us what this Photoshop filter can do. It reminds me of "black light" on psychedelic posters. There is texture in what would be the white stripes. I suggest that you try the Filter>Camera Raw Filter>texturize slider to increase it or decrease it. Jim   Posted: 01/02/2021 10:45:06

This is a super image. I often play with the Photoshop filters but haven't gotten quite this lovely a result yet. Love it!   Posted: 01/02/2021 11:57:59

Sam I think this is a great photo composition with or without the Photoshop filtering that you did. I love the intense look of the right zebra's eye looking into the camera. I think your Photoshop filtering editing was great and gives the viewer a completely different perspective of these Zebras and what love means to them.   Posted: 01/05/2021 07:22:14

Sam, Great image and derivation. I have never thought about going off in this direction with an image. I am sure the variations are endless. One could even go off into a psychedelic space with all sorts of color contrasts. The composition here is simple enough that I'll bet the original color version is quite striking as well. Fantastic! The pose of the two zebras really makes this a well composed, wonderful and artistic photograph with emotion and not just a technological stunt   Posted: 01/20/2021 15:41:21

This image certainly does lend itself to creative processing. I really like what you did with it. I especially like that you were able to maintain the dark grey tone in some of the stripes. To me, the tonal variation adds depth and interest to the image.   Posted: 01/24/2021 12:19:00
