About the Image(s)

shot on a Nikon D800 50mm. Shot on tripod so shutter speed is irrelevant. It was suspended in front of a diffuser with a glass door behind giving some backlighting. Some dodging and burning done, and colours enhanced. I have covered to black and white. I like it but not as much as the colour. The flower is dead, if that was not obvious.

Sue: very unusual image showing all the veins in the blossom. As an experiment, see what it looks like on a black background in 4X5 aspect ratio with a bit more saturation. Looks like it could glow.   Posted: 10/04/2019 14:35:22

Sue, you gave us absolutely no information about this photo. Could you please let us know what settings, ISO, focal length etc. you used? I can not comment on this photo if I do not know anything about it.   Posted: 10/05/2019 20:18:06

Very interesting but with out your information I don't know if you got what you were trying for.   Posted: 10/07/2019 12:34:10

Interesting photo.

More attractive colors could improve the image. I also would like to suggest trying a high key version in mono.   Posted: 10/08/2019 18:59:31

Sue, I appreciate what you do in high key and this captures unexpected colors from a dead leaf. Well done. Did you have a light source behind the leaf to get the transparency and details? Dr. Jim   Posted: 10/09/2019 19:55:23
