Deion of the subject- I have seen other photos of lighthouses so when I saw this one in Acadia National Park; I shot different angles and came back at different times in the day. I like what I got but still it's not what I saw in my head.
The 1st one is out of the camera but I did crop it there was a lot more to the right side trees.
The 2nd one I change the sky because my sky was boring just blue. I liked how the gold made the rocks come out more.
What do ya'll think?

Donna, I think you did very well to work this photo into what you saw in your head. The only improvement would be to take the photo from a boat to put the lighthouse prominently in the foreground. I like the way the sunset colors emerged in clouds and rocks.   Posted: 10/02/2018 16:21:28

I think you did a wonderful job with the edits. I love the sky you used and the golden reflection on the rocks. I like the turquoise color of the water and the movement captured when the water hits the rocks. Beautiful image. I wouldn't change anything.   Posted: 10/02/2018 17:23:05

definitely more colorful and lively. I like the new version.
so, to be clear, this is composition of two separate pictures. Correct? the cloud structure is different between the two pictures.   Posted: 10/02/2018 17:40:28

I feel a little different about this picture. Although the new sky is far more colorful and dramatic, I see a problem with the direction of the light. In your new sky, the sun is obviously setting or rising (not sure which) behind the light house. In that case, the front of the lighthouse and the rocks would be in shadow rather than lit up. Just something to consider when combining images.   Posted: 10/04/2018 19:03:42

Donna - what a dramatic change with the edits and the sky. It could be a painting. And there are many interesting aspects to the shot. I could see several other completely different crops. Taking out the water altogether, having just the water and rocks. But the light house completes it, and I like its placement.

This looks like a most beautiful painting with the addition of the striking color! Very well done !   Posted: 10/13/2018 12:34:01
