I like your original photo, Jerry. But I'm not sure about the new version. Might you consider putting the circular part of the new image on a larger black canvas and adding two smaller versions of the circular part - in varying sizes - overlapped with the larger one? Thanks for the suggestion. It sounds very similar to what I would expect using the Droiste filter in Pixel Bender. I saved an old computer with CS5 solely for the Pixel Bender application, but I haven't used it recently. I'll try it when I return home in 6-7 weeks and before I go to Europe for a month.

This is a pretty good effort Jerry. I feel that the swirl effect works well. I wonder if it would be possible to add a black stroke of say 5px around the sphere in order just to separate it from the background?   Posted: 07/19/2017 02:58:06
