Camellia Bloom by Julia Parrish

March 2023 - Camellia Bloom

About the Image(s)

I live in the low country of South Carolina and February is the month our Camellias are in bloom. They are just about gone now, but I like capturing them in the short time they are here.

I believe that if this flower had a scent, I would be able to detect it from your photo! The focus and exposure look good, focus not too sharp.
There is a slight brownish discoloration bottom center, could be this bloom is slightly past its peak or this is typical of these flowers?   Posted: 03/05/2023 19:20:28

I think this is typical of this flower. I rejected a lot due to the discolorations - I probably should do a little post processing on that area to clean it up a bit. Thanks for the suggestion.   Posted: 03/06/2023 12:55:50

Wow! Agree with Richard about the scent. Beautifully done. The flower seems to jump out at you. Well seen, well done.   Posted: 03/06/2023 07:58:20

Julia - Gorgeous photo with good composition. Appreciate your angle and capturing the various leaves within the frame. I live in Illinois and it will be a while before our spring flowers come to life. Thanks for capturing and sharing.   Posted: 03/06/2023 09:28:09

Thank you! Spring comes early here along with a lot of pollen. Hopefully you will have flowers soon.   Posted: 03/06/2023 12:57:03
