About the Image(s)

This is an image I call George. I visited a zoo a while ago and captured this ape. I have to say I left there feeling very moved and sad. I think George's feelings came through the image. These animals should not be caged. He responded to me more like a human than an ape. I was intrigued by the human-like hands. My settings were 70mm, f32, iso 1000, 1/250 sec. No tripod was used, it was hand held

You captured his feeling very well. He looks so sad almost begging to be let out. This is a very moving image for me as I have always been intrigued by the similarities between our world and the monkeys, apes, etc. Very well done image telling what I take as a sad story.   Posted: 01/02/2021 11:55:50

Your image tells the story of this ape. The sad expression, the hand wrapped around the cage says it all. Nicely done.   Posted: 01/08/2021 21:16:59

Great capture. He looks so sad. Good cropping. I might want to see more done with the eye.   Posted: 01/10/2021 16:18:10

I'm just wondering what this monkey is thinking. He seems to communicate a desire for interaction. "Why don't you speak to me?" Very realistic and the BW just adds to it. Well done.

Great capture Cynthia. Very expressive, and evokes emotions from everyone. Very effective in Black and white.   Posted: 01/13/2021 12:53:09

You have captured a very moving scene with his hands gripping the fence....The expression on his face also tells a story. I like the fact that you converted it to black and white instead of his natural coloring...very effective....   Posted: 01/16/2021 22:42:36
