Nice shot. It reminds me one of the Renaissance painting of a Madonna. Good the choice of BW. Nice work.   Posted: 10/06/2020 15:11:02

To me a strong portrait is one that appears to be informal. This photo does absolutely that. Good job. The lighting adds drama to the portrait. With portraits I try to leave open space at the top of the image. This reduces the appearance of the person being crowded in the image. Just my opinion. Overall, I'm sure this lady loves this photo.   Posted: 10/07/2020 07:45:19

Portraits are my hardest photos...However, I feel this one really captures the "moment" and does not appear to be posed. good lighting with only one catch light in her right eye...Well done.   Posted: 10/17/2020 15:14:03

Good capture. Portraits are hard. Works well in black and white. She definitely has a "look" with her penetrating eyes and flowing hair.   Posted: 10/17/2020 20:11:05

Thanks for nice comments. Once I converted to BW I worked on this image two or three times over several weeks, each time to adjust a shadow slightly. And last edit was to reduce the some highlights on her forhead and nose. I think that taking time to review images several times helped me catch some small issues.   Posted: 10/18/2020 11:27:26
