About the Image(s)
Last year, we went to the Black Country Museum in Dudley, UK - https://www.bclm.co.uk/. Whilst there, one of the pictures I took was of these three old petrol (gas to Americans) pumps.
Camera - Olympus OMD EM1 Mark II, Lens: Olympus 12-40mm (equivalent to 24-40mm) f5.6, speed 250at 19 mm (equivalent to 38mm)
Original-1 was as taken, Original-2 is after work in Nik and Topaz (exact steps long forgotten). Then converted to Mono in Nik Software.

While your monochrome image is interesting I still prefer the one with some color (original #2)..If this were mine I would take it one stop more and paste the monochrome on top of the original #2 and then erase only the 3 gas pumps...very easy to do...but you have to remember to MERGE the image before saving it...one other thing is that both images MUST be the same size to do this...I do these images all the time, mostly with my women's shoe images.   Posted: 08/01/2020 18:42:14
It certainly takes you back in time. As for the Topaz and Nik, I heard of them and many use them. Do you use those in addition to LR?

Never got used to LR. Use PS in raw to open and adjust, then Topaz and/or Nik as needed.   Posted: 08/03/2020 10:33:07
Interesting. Brings back memories of how things were. It seems, that thoughts are that motoring is beginning to change to all electric. WHAT WILL BECOME OF ALL THE PETROL?

Interesting petrol pumps. You did a good job of creating a photo that takes one back in time and makes one wonder what things were like, what kind of vehicle is driven, does the station owner come out to fill up the tank and check the oil, etc. When I see old tanks I wonder does the fuel contain lead and are there leaking underground tanks below the pumps. Your image has created a lot of interest. Nicely done.   Posted: 08/04/2020 15:36:06

Really like the image in B/W. Very interesting photo. Like the effects you created using Topaz and Nik.   Posted: 08/07/2020 14:47:51

Yes this does work well as B/W. the frame also dates the image to a traditional old process. Did they identify the year these were in service. nice treatment.   Posted: 08/09/2020 19:41:15
