About the Image(s)

Captured from a boat trip in the St Augustine harbor. It was my first time using a sigma 150-600 lens, hand held. Well, I found it very difficult to handle with movement on the boat and was very surprised to get a few sharp images. Missed my settings as all my captures were in jpgs. Set ISO to 100 and F6 focal length 440 mm. Only edits were cleaning up the wooden rail.

Very sharp image considering you are on a boat. You kept the entire bird in the frame and still left space in front of the bird. This would make a great photo in a bird identifying book. Nicely done.   Posted: 10/05/2019 19:44:05

Taking photos of birds, etc. from a boat is always tricky, but you were lucky and got an excellent photo of the bird...   Posted: 10/10/2019 22:46:36

Very nice Tern! Crisp and clear. Composition is great. You can see a lot of detail in the feathers and the eye is sharp. you even caught a catch light. Really excellent especially considering you were on a moving boat!   Posted: 10/11/2019 12:58:46

Amazing how sharp it is since you were on a boat. Great capture. It looks perfectly done as if he was waiting to have his portrait taken. Well done.   Posted: 10/16/2019 19:48:25
