About the Image(s)
Taken with a Canon 7D Mark II & Canon 70-300mm f4.5 lens HandHeld 1/250sec. w/in-camera-flash. After the general tweaking in Camera Raw, I cropped in PS and left some of the soft foreground as a frame and leading line. I then decided to eliminate the strong distracting branch on the left, which now makes this image a pictorial image and no longer a nature image. I sharpened only the snake.

Very nice and vivid green, and the snake forms a z pattern -- the bottom part of the snake acts as an anchor and a frame for the composition. My only complaint is that the eye has a kind of plastic look to it, looks almost like a button. It seems like the reflection pattern looks like a row of neon lights or a double row of ring lights. Maybe you could clone this into Peggy's garden!   Posted: 01/09/2021 17:47:14
Good point on the "Z" pattern Jerry. Not sure of what to do about the eye. However, I can clone the snake in Peggy's garden as soon as I find the apple.   Posted: 01/10/2021 13:28:25
Beautiful color and pattern. I like Marti's black background a lot! I'm not crazy about snakes but he looks pretty harmless.   Posted: 01/11/2021 16:22:23
Snakes creep me out, but you nailed this photo. I like the leading line going directly to the neon eye. Everything is tack sharp. The branch behind the snake is a bit distracting. I do like Marti's rendition with the black background.   Posted: 01/12/2021 08:35:39
A very colorful and sharp image for sure. I am personally not a reptile fan but I think you did an excellent job on composing this image and in the level of saturation. While the black background certainly makes the colors stand out more, I think your original background is more natural.   Posted: 01/12/2021 13:38:24
