Pleasing arrangement of the leaves, but overall the image is a bit lacking in contrast, which would bring out the modeling, or three dimensional aspect of the scene. Also, unless this was your intention, the white, thin halo on the edges of the leaves suggests over-sharpening.   Posted: 12/08/2020 07:33:27

I probably got a little heavy handed with the detail but I wanted to make it look more like a drawing and bring out the details in the leaves.   Posted: 12/08/2020 08:23:14

Really nice job sharpening this up. I like the subtle colors of the poinsettias. This would make a nice notecard.   Posted: 12/09/2020 08:42:42

Actually, I have already made a notecard. :) I have a template for it and use Red River's 7x10 glossy notecard stock. I'm going to try and post the file to the Bulletin Board section if I can. I don't know if I can email it but if the bulletin board doesn't work, I'll try if anyone wants it.   Posted: 12/09/2020 10:31:06

I could not upload it to the bulletin board so I emailed it to all of you...like it or not. LOL
If the guides don't show up, let me know. I hope they will or it's all in vain. :)   Posted: 12/09/2020 10:55:56

This is a lovely pristine image of a poinsettias, but as Jerry points out, it needs a bit of contrast. Because of all the beautiful lines and curves, I am thinking that perhaps one of the Topaz techniques, such as Blue & Yellow or B&W High Contrast, could bring out those lines and curves.

Cranked up the contrast. I think it looks too garish but it is more "artsy".   Posted: 12/11/2020 17:56:19

I love the simplicity of this image a great deal but I do agree with the comments about contrast, and even though these poinsettias are close to white, increasing saturation may bring out a bit of the off-color in each of them and add to the texture. Just one other thing that bothers me a little bit and that is that the tips of every leaf are cut off. If even just a couple of them, like on the lower left and lower side, were included I think it would be more complete.   Posted: 12/12/2020 16:43:27

This is a lovely simple image. I think the final is a bit oversharpened and it loses the creamy quality of the leaves. I think you could give the image a lot of different looks. Here is a simple one that is more like a drawing and hasn't altered the coloring too much. From Topaz Studio 2, Add Look, Soft collection, Softsketch.
Enlarge this to see the detail.

I like how sharp all the leaves are. The sharpening is good except for the halo. I'd like to see a little more contrast and the green pop to create separation. I agree it is a great Christmas card theme.   Posted: 12/25/2020 15:04:32
