John, I would have liked to see more of the silhouetted foreground, which is much more interesting than the sky. A lower angle would have emphasized more the bushes against the sky.

First of all, I'm sorry to hear that you are leaving the group -- I hope you can make your way back, as I've enjoyed your work. A thin stroke would have helped to separate out the bottom. Beautiful colors. As John hinted at, maybe there is too much sky, overpowering the silhouetted part of the composition. In any case, a very nice image, great to look at.   Posted: 03/10/2019 18:10:51

I like this image very much, and I disagree slightly with Joe and Jerry because I think the sky is more interesting than the foreground. Lovely soft colors. Sorry you're leaving us John.   Posted: 03/14/2019 13:35:31

I agree with Jerry about the stroke - a very thin (maybe 1 pixel) stroke. I also agree with Peggy. I like the sky as it's really the focal point for me. Beautiful colors. Nice job.   Posted: 03/14/2019 16:28:28

The question for me is what is the subject? Is it the sky, the sunrise or the foreground? If it is the sunrise, I would crop the top of the sky a bit. If it is the sky, I'd leave the crop as is, but I'd like to see more clouds and drama. If it is the foreground, I'd crop the top a good 1/3 and add more of the bottom. It can also make for a beautiful pano and simply crop 1/2 way down from the top. The color palette is very soothing! Good luck where ever you are and be well!   Posted: 03/28/2019 09:40:55

The theme is the moment when the night passes into the day, the moment when the sun is still beyond the horizon, when the material reality does not yet show itself, remaining in the deep shadow, visible only in the form of black silhouettes against the background of the shining sky. Of course, this is not a photographic explanation of the presented picture. See you soon I hope.   Posted: 03/28/2019 10:26:13

A very pleasing and soft image.

Moments before sunrise and Twilights are all was very special. In this one, I think that I would eliminate most of the top sky - - it adds nothing to the twilight colors. I would crop it not far above the treetops and increase saturation to bring out the last light and improve the contrast in the silhouette. Nice image.   Posted: 03/28/2019 20:27:27
