Mono Variations by Brian Swinyard, PPSA

November 2019 - Mono Variations

About the Image(s)

The original image was taken a few years ago at the Wearable Arts Festival in Painswick, Gloucestershire. In this image, I removed the colour, cropped and rotated it anti-clockwise, made a duplicate layer, added the oil filter effect, then erased the effect from the face, and finally flattened the image.

This is so creative! Perhaps a little more light on her eye?
I particularly like the way the lens (Is that what it is?) is melting into th surrounding background. The tile filter really suits the image and I like the way it is not over the whole image.   Posted: 11/05/2019 02:02:23

Phillipa, It is indeed an old lens in front of her right eye. It was important that the face was free of the oil filter effect to increase the overall visual aesthetic.   Posted: 11/08/2019 03:32:07
