About the Image(s)

I took this image with a Samsung s4 smartphone. I created three duplicate layers. In layer mode, I changed the top one to 'grain merge', and the second to 'multiply.
Next I added a new layer, which I filled with bright green, and changed the layer mode to 'saturation', and reduced the opacity to 50%.

The colors are quite amazing! I would never have known that there is a green layer in there! It is very dramatic and eye catching!
The red Shape on the left edge is a tad distracting....but could easily be clone out!   Posted: 10/17/2019 18:21:53

Steve, You have done well to create a composite which has much more vibrance and colour saturation to it than the original. It is very much a picture of shapes, patterns, textures and repetition that I find quite pleasing. A slight pity about the pink disk on the left hand edge which tends to draw my attention and to take it out of the frame. Compositionally, I sometimes find that images work as well if not better when flipped horizontally. See attached where I have also cropped out the pink disk.   Posted: 10/23/2019 08:26:05

I have just started getting really interested in the blending modes. So this image and your process is enlightening! The colors really jump!   Posted: 10/24/2019 21:10:50

How much better with these exciting colors! I fail to detect a green layer at all. I do agree with Brian that the pink, which used to be white, blob should be removed. This can be done easily in PS and, I assume, Lightroom.
But the strong diagonal of the blue bricks is excellent, making a great contrast with the reddish tiles. The leaves now have wonderful color and really highlight the feeling of autumn. Interesting that two images this time were taken in Holland.   Posted: 10/31/2019 16:10:36
