About the Image(s)

The original color 35mm slide was digitized; then Find Edges" was applied and minor hue saturation was applied. The image was taken in the High Sierras; she was standing at the base of a large juniper tree.

Barry, your image has me wondering what the woman is looking at. Might this be Eve looking for that infamous apple in the Garden of Eden? Or is it one of those "Find the Hidden Object" pictures we played with as kids where a shape is hidden somewhere in the image. But it's a very interesting image and I admire what you've done. The only suggestion I'd make might be to change the colors or at least the shading of them so they seem more subtle. As it is now, the colors seem to take dominance over the scene itself. Then again, that might be adding to my sense of wonderment about the woman in the picture. I like it!   Posted: 01/13/2018 18:36:22

Barrie, Compositionally, this image works well as you have positioned the figure off-centre in the frame which adds to the overall visual dynamic. There is an interesting visual story here with the lady reaching upwards towards the tree canopy as if stretching for the forbidden fruit. I like the interplay of greens and blues but I am less happy with the pink foliage and how this bleeds down into the subject's hair. There are some interesting shapes in the green boulders at the base of the picture.   Posted: 01/14/2018 14:31:25

Barrie,
I love the colors here. It is a pleasure to look at this photo you have created. I agree that you could have cut out the two lines of almost orange color that comes to her face, easily done in PS. But the image itself is charming and beautiful. Good work, Barrie.   Posted: 01/15/2018 13:29:33

This is an interesting image and I am sure more interesting than the original slide. I think the colors are overpowering and at first I did not even see the subject.   Posted: 01/27/2018 11:06:44
