About the Image(s)

I die cut the heart from the leaf and used a flatbed scanner to "photograph" them. Applied a texture and created the falling movement in the heart using motion blur and layering. Homage to the American term for Fall. In the UK its Autumn.

Simple but clever idea. Well executed and I like the post processing you have done. Like the texture in the background, well done.

I find your picture very appealing, especially the combination of colors and texture with a delicate stroke.
The idea of a falling heart didn't come across to me, so a simple shadow would suffice to add depth. I wonder if turning the leaf a bit counterclockwise might add interest to the composition.   Posted: 11/04/2020 18:35:37

I enjoyed the concept and technique. I think I would place the leaf on a diagonal, perhaps in landscape mode.   Posted: 11/12/2020 18:35:24

Super, I do like many aspects of this, especially the luminance and the clarity. I've never thought of using a scanner, but I've noticed a couple of other pictures in previous months doing this. I like the "stroke" inside the border too.
Having said that, I think I'd prefer it a little with the adjustments suggested.   Posted: 11/18/2020 16:09:19

Very well done...however, the shadow behind the "fallen heart" bothers me a bit...I would like to see it a bit higher from the base...perhaps to almost the top of the shadow. This image is well thought out and executed, but could stand some more work....Were it mine I think that I would have placed the leaf at more of an angle rather than straight up.   Posted: 11/20/2020 12:57:31
