This has too much colour to my mind making it meaningless. I would suggest adding contrast to the original to emphasise shadows and then just a touch of colour to imply rust and age. Great possibilities here. Worth working on.   Posted: 06/09/2020 10:56:42

Really like this. Lots of vibrant colours much improved from the drab brown. I would crop up from the bottom though to get a better balanced composition   Posted: 06/09/2020 11:49:56

At the time I did this I was experimenting with the full 16x9 mode of my Google Pixel 4XL phone, but I now fully agree with a crop. Thanks.

I now routinely make monochrome versions too, but contrast always needs to be increased. All the decisions are so personal and often change over time. I'm often reworking old images   Posted: 06/09/2020 13:28:27

I like it. Rust is wonderful to work with and when you push the contrast and saturation you can really get these vibrant colors.   Posted: 06/09/2020 13:15:09

I found rust heaven this March at the lone motel just outside of Death Valley, Amargosa Valley. It had an abundance of old mining equipment, vehicles and metal sculptures.   Posted: 06/09/2020 13:31:28

One of my very favorite techniques...saturation....Love the colors....See my entry of "DISKS" this week in the 365 Challenge....I used saturation to enhance the disks...I have to agree with Pat that it should be cropped to take the latch out of dead center....maybe to just below the green "leaves"...   Posted: 06/09/2020 17:31:24

What a striking colorful change you have created from your dull colored original, but you gave no indication as to how you achieved the change. What ever, I like what you did.

I'm sorry, I forgot to say that I used multiple Topaz Studio 2 filters after my basic Lightroom editing. My Topaz routine is to use Dehaze, Precision Detail and Contrast before choosing a preset Look. Looks are always a combination of filters all of which are adjustable. I consider it Photoshop for dummies. In this case, I used a Look that I had previously created with AI Remix. I finished it with another preset of mine to add the stroke.   Posted: 06/11/2020 15:48:03
