About the Image(s)

I arranged these ornaments and then photographed them but it was rather plain so I added the filter of Tiles. This improved it but I did not like the white background so made up this one and blended it on top using the Blending Mode Pin Light.

I like the non-uniformity that the tile 'breakup" created. It would not look as dramatic if all the breakup lines were evenly spaced or of equal boldness. I haven't run across this filter, so will need to give it a look. The tiles here all look well placed, but I'm wondering if they could have been masked if some of the breakup lines were created in an important part of the image.   Posted: 08/03/2019 16:46:30

Your image is my favorite this month. The addition of tiles and coloring the background were important additions that raise it to a high level in my eye.
I thought of changing the tiles to puzzle shapes but tiles are probably a better choice.
A good monitor probably shows detail in the wood, but not on my iPad.
I think the little white line on the left border needs to be removed.   Posted: 08/03/2019 17:32:09

I liked the concept of this image and its build up to the final image - each stage adding something important to its development.   Posted: 08/09/2019 02:53:16

This is an interesting concept. I wonder if a jigsaw puzzle filter might have been a better fit. If you're not aware, I believe Panos has one as an ap online and it's free   Posted: 08/10/2019 13:06:08

I don't think I have the "tiles" filter in Topaz but will look for it...I do have one in Elements that is called Glass, which allows one to put the image under glass with various block sizes....a lot of fun...I did one for our Chapters Showcase in PSA and it was shown in the Journal, but I forget which issue now..."Red Chilies Under Glass"....   Posted: 08/23/2019 17:01:32
