About the Image(s)
I spent a happy hour or so wandering around a museum based in an old quarry.A number of excavators in various states of decay were placed around the site, I liked the juxtaposition of these particular specimens. On the odd occasion some of the excavators are operated, but not the day I went.

Hi John,
It sounds like a great place for photography. The image is well composed. The implied diagonal line created between the two tractors draws my eye into the frame. The colors of the tractors are complementary to each other. It is well exposed and sharp. I like the texture in the gravel and rust. The image provides interest. I did notice some trees poking out on top of the green tractor. I don't think it adds anything to the image. Maybe I would clone the trees out and see how it looks. Just a thought.   Posted: 04/05/2021 09:51:45

Hi John,
A good image of a `working scene'. I agree with Barbara's comments. Also, if possible it might have been interesting to use a very wide angle lens and try shooting either low from the bottom of the pit or from the top of the pit - this would exaggerate the size of the machines & might have an interesting impact.

I, too, like the juxtaposition, shapes and color of the machines against the gravel. I agree with Barbara about the foliage behind the big machine.
To place even more emphasis on the machines, you might want to try some of the NIK filters especially the vintage film efex.   Posted: 04/08/2021 18:22:42

Marcela makes an interesting point. This looks like a fun shot to play with using filters. I think this would really be fun to spend some time in this place, very unusual museum. Old rusty stuff makes for good photography.   Posted: 04/08/2021 21:26:31
