Wow! You captured this egret not only doing something, but in a vertical position. Great capture!

I would have deleted the broken reflections with content-aware. To me, they distract from the star of the show.   Posted: 10/08/2020 13:26:21

Great shot Carroll! I agree with Marcela's comment & also you might want to consider editing out the branch on the left that is coming towards the bird.

I agree with both Marcela and Norm, but then it will not be a nature shot anymore. This image is great quality and an excellent nature story. I keep toying with the idea of cropping the bottom to get rid of most or all the reflection to make some people happy with "fill the frame" Now it feels centered both horizontal and vertical and some are going to object to that. You could crop from the right which really fills the frame. Somehow I don't think that is a good idea. If that branch is firmly attached this looks like just before we have a wet bird. Gives the image a sense of excitement. After all that great capture.   Posted: 10/11/2020 15:42:37

Thanks for everyone's comments. Stan is correct I prepared the image for a nature contest so I followed the rules and considered the story more important. Probably my hang up. I'll give another look at the composition as suggested. Again, thanks.   Posted: 10/17/2020 08:47:24

You have hit the button at the perfect moment. The action is great and the framing is as well. You have got all the detail in the white of the bird. all is sharp in the right places.   Posted: 10/18/2020 07:32:09
