My Tree Portrait by Marcela Stegemueller

March 2020 - My Tree Portrait

About the Image(s)

This tree could be seen from my backyard. It has now been cut down by my Homeowner’s Assn. They said it was hampering the golfers’ play.
My settings very early in the morning: 30sec shutter speed, f/8.0, ISO 100 on a tripod. l was at 40 mm with my 24-70 lens. Cropped landscape version to focus on tree and rising sun.

An excellent image Marcela...The contrast of the sun rising & the stars in the sky is terrific imagery. My only suggestion is to darken the lower left a bit so the tree is further accentuated...As for the Homeowners Association --I'd get a poster sized duplicate of this image made and ask that it be hung in the Clubhouse as a tribute to the sacrifice nature made for golfers! <g>   Posted: 03/11/2020 13:46:56

A great way to show the magnificent tree. I like fact we have the sun rise and we can still see the stars in the sky. Those golfers have a lot to answer for.   Posted: 03/15/2020 07:09:30

I really like this photo, Marcela. I think the crop from landscape to this makes it really work. The change in colors from the deep blue early morning sky at the top to the warm rising sun provide good color contrast and variation. I'm sorry you don't have this tree to look upon any longer. Thanks for sharing this with us.
