About the Image(s)

This is a portrait of my barn cat. Most barn cats are feral, but Beatrice soon took to people and was very happy to pose. In Snap seed, I tuned her image, upped the structure a bit and used the healing tool to clean some spots on her face. I left the marks on her nose as evidence of battle scars in pursuit of her job.

Hi Harriet,

I think this is a wonderful pet portrait. The expression makes it clear that this cat `means business' as do the nose scars!

A couple of minor suggestions...perhaps trying to darken the backlighting (?) on the fur on the kitty's spine <I find it a bit distracting>...Also, would there be a way to sharpen the eyes?--I think the focus may be a little soft.   Posted: 12/05/2019 10:09:26

Lovely portrait of the cat. Norm has a point in bringing out the eyes. The fur's back lighting could perhaps use a bit of work on the back.   Posted: 12/14/2019 18:10:25

Beatrice looks like she's a good mouser and also can appreciate a good nap in the sun. I love how her fur catches the light of the sun. The changes in Snapseed brought out some texture in her fur, I think, which is good. Great cropping as well.   Posted: 12/14/2019 19:25:39

A fabulous portrait of the 'Top Cat'. The lighting makes the picture and that expression is brilliant   Posted: 12/15/2019 08:10:22

The scale with a relatively wide lens up close and therefore smaller than expected objects in the background really catches you to view the image. I like that a lot. I think I agree on the eyes, not sure what works the best, but I would try selecting them, lightening them some, raising the contrast, sharpening them more than normal or whatever and see what happens. This image is sure to draw attention wherever you show it. Well done.   Posted: 12/26/2019 15:16:31
