About the Image(s)

This late sunflower was auto adjusted in Snap Seed and then saturation was increased a bit more. I then increased structure and sharpness in the app and then added a frame.

Hi Harriet, I really like the colors here...but if you were aiming for a sharper image it would have helped to stop down the aperture further. Also, even with a fast shutter speed I have found it hard to `stop action' on a plant or flower that has even the slightest movement in the wind. What I have sometimes done to deal with that is use a flash . You might want to checkout Romin with Roman Photo Tours on the web-Roman explains this teachnique   Posted: 09/07/2019 12:06:44

Hi Harriet,
This is an interesting image with the flower appearing almost downcast with the hopeful bud (?) above it (the flower that hasn't yet opened). The colors in the flower are beautiful, and there are hints of that orange/red in other parts of the image to create a harmonious composition. Very nice!   Posted: 09/07/2019 13:32:08

The title of the image is perfect. The image says end of summer loud and clear. The colors are great and the background is nice and soft which is just what you probably wanted. the light is excellent. Good image.   Posted: 09/07/2019 22:22:25

I like the title, colors and the orientation of the sunflower. I like that you are showing it as it is. We see many perfect flowers and not too many in their last stages. I would only suggest cropping a little from the bottom.   Posted: 09/08/2019 10:20:54

I like the sad looking sunflower, as you say with your title 'End of Summer', I think the image sums up the feeling well. The little border you have added seems to give that feeling too.   Posted: 09/09/2019 04:22:43

Nicely done Harriet. I would have missed this entirely but you captured a natural part of life in one flower shot.   Posted: 09/09/2019 05:06:14
