About the Image(s)

While traveling in Colorado, I took the attached picture of a mountain meadow. I only had a small point and shoot and my 24-70 lens on my Sony camera. I took this picture at 61 mm 1/640 shutter speed because there was wind blowing, 1/8.0 aperture and ISO 1250 because I don’t know why. Looking back, I should have used a smaller ISO. I did not use a tripod. I am also attaching the picture which I took with the point and shoot which I called Colorado Mountain Meadow. Although I liked the point and shoot angle better, that camera took only JPG, I could not bring out the shadows and the colors were off.

The air was crisp, the horses seemed so happy and the surroundings were beautiful. I could have stayed there forever. I

I like both shots. Frankly, I think I like the small one even better. I like the blue sky complementing the golden colors of the shot and the composition of the converging lines leading you from the lower left to the middle right. But back to the main image, horses are always good in an image. We seem to have an affinity for horses and they are well placed. The light and colors are amazing.   Posted: 08/09/2019 10:20:03

Animals/horses are always good and they are well placed.I immediately want to know are they wild horses or someone's meadow ornaments. The colors and the light are beautiful.   Posted: 08/10/2019 10:13:12

This meadow is right next to a National Forest so I suspect someone leases the land and uses it for their horses.   Posted: 08/20/2019 17:37:40

Very nice image! My only suggestion would be to experiment with bringing down the saturation a bit in the field part of the shot. It may be perfect the way it is, but it seems a wee bit intense. That's just something to give a try to, not something that needs to be "fixed."   Posted: 08/10/2019 16:11:06

Thanks, Tracy. I am working on this right now. Thanks.   Posted: 08/10/2019 17:53:21

Great color combination especially in the smaller image.
Since you were probably (?) shooting at 24mm you probably could have kept the image sharp @ f5.6 & used a slower ISO...my experience with the Sony pocket camera is that it is great on color but sharpness suffers at Hi Iso...But as the saying goes '...the best camera is the one you have with you '😀📷
Nice job overall!   Posted: 08/12/2019 12:38:16

I like the composition of your cropped image. Ialso find the colours a little over saturated, and a slight adjustment will improve the image a lot for me.   Posted: 08/14/2019 03:44:10

I love seeing your work. Composition is nice with the horses bringing my eye in from the left. John seems correct the colors feel a little oversaturated but likely just reflect the time of year.   Posted: 08/17/2019 09:36:08
