Hmmm... Now that I see this again online, I think the color version works better. I've attached a cropped version of the image in color. Any thoughts on which image works best here?   Posted: 08/02/2019 20:22:31

I like old relics also. I noticed where the price of the gas was 4 9/10 per gallon. Was that ever the case?

I like the color version and the crop better. The pump is in a better position in the picture. If it were me, I would crop the rocks in front making the pump even more important. Great find!   Posted: 08/09/2019 16:41:05

Thanks, Marcela! I'll give your suggestions a try. I'm beginning to like the color version better myself, as well.   Posted: 08/10/2019 15:48:24

I like them both. I would up the saturation of the black and white a bit. Very nice.   Posted: 08/10/2019 09:56:47

I like the color version better & would crop in tighter on the gas pump & eliminate the blue sign to the left & the orange sign to the right & leave the rocks as is...Great eye in capturing the possibilities of this image!😀‘   Posted: 08/12/2019 12:46:35

As always, there is no right or wrong, just opinions. I like them both, but perhaps the color better. In color, I would not be afraid to up the vibrance (saturation) maybe past reality a bit. In the mono version some vegetation above the fence and signs right of center got pretty bright. The color seems to show that could be controlled in the conversion to be darker. I like cropping the bottom a bit but would leave enough rocks across to the left to be a base for the image. I am a fan of leaving all the signs and junk in an image like this and would only crop the bottom a bit. Every bit of junk is something to contemplate and hold attention on the image.   Posted: 08/12/2019 15:23:00

For me this type of picture seems to work better in monochrome. It can take away the distraction of disparate colours. Although I have to admit a bit of rust can come across better in colour.   Posted: 08/14/2019 03:49:22
