About the Image(s)

This was taken at the local Straws Bridge lake. It was early in the morning, and I noticed a mist was rising from the water at one point. I waited until a swan was positioned correctly and took several shots. I cropped this one, and cloned out the unwanted parts. I then added a shot of the moon that I had taken some time ago, positioned and resized it. There was a light reflection in the original image which I repositioned on the lake underneath the moon, to create the final picture.

Mike, I like your original shot and your crop especially since it did not include the other swans in the background. It appears to me, however, that he image is slightly sloping downward toward the left side. Also, I would not include the moon as it does not appear natural and the reflections from the swan do not appear to be moon reflections. In my revision I dodged the face and shadow areas of the swan.   Posted: 04/06/2021 18:37:26

I think the moon is a nice touch, offering some interest and balance to the composition. I also think it would benefit from being brighter, as the current version doesn't seem bright enough to give the bright backlight (a strong feature of this image) that we see on the swan.   Posted: 04/07/2021 07:22:57

I like the concept here but I think I would have enlarged the moon even more!   Posted: 04/10/2021 16:10:04

I agree that the moon adds a bit of magic to the image. Could it be slightly larger? My eye goes to the cloned swan on the left which looks like a poor reflection of the moon. David is spot on regards brightmess. Perhaps this is a work in progress?   Posted: 04/11/2021 05:16:30

I like the effect, perhaps not so fond of the moon. This seems to have a slight tilt to it (or is that my imagination?).   Posted: 04/18/2021 09:25:28
