About the Image(s)

This image is a composite of 2 images, one of the bush tracks near Melbourne and the other of trees taken with intentional blur (image 1 & 2)
After blending I have added a ray of light using the 'lighting effects' tool in Photoshop (spot light, colored slightly yellow).

Love what you have done to this image. Makes a good shot into something really different and effective!! Really like the muted colour range as well.   Posted: 11/05/2020 10:41:33

ONe excellent creation. Really like the ethereal effect that you've done. I am looking for a 'ghost' to really add to this atmosphere!?   Posted: 11/07/2020 12:24:58

I am going to make myself unpopular I suspect. I think Original 2 is a great image, and Original 1 works as stand alone, but I really don't think that the combined image is as good as either of the individual shots.I find it all a little confusing. The ray of light is a good addition, and I think that a vertical crop removing the left hand 40% of the image would actually create a much more enjoyable picture. I have read the remarks prior to mine, and am quite happy to concede that my thoughts are probably totally wrong.   Posted: 11/08/2020 06:00:05

I don't have a problem with your comments at all. Creative work can be the most subjective of all so it all boils down to what we like and don't like. For me this kind of work is quite new so, for me, its all about trying different techniques   Posted: 11/14/2020 21:46:15

I think you greatly improved your original. It would add interest for me if you added a ghostly subject in the distance.
I think Original 2 is great as is!   Posted: 11/12/2020 12:57:53

I really like the image and the effect you created - no suggestions.   Posted: 11/15/2020 19:13:09

My professional life was spent in Forestry so I always enjoy looking at pictures of trees. Your species in Australia are of course very different from ours in the UK.
So I enjoyed both your original images of the eucalypts but am a little undecided about your combination of the two as the result is rather confusing. Perhaps the image needs something more birds or a kangaroo just to provide something for the eye to settle on.   Posted: 11/16/2020 02:55:35

Great blurred effect and I think the combo works well, except I am not sure about the non-blurred area right in the front centre. I appreciate this is personal but I feel that would be better softened/blurred too.   Posted: 11/19/2020 15:13:10
