to me

Ian, attached are my two September photos for digital creative group 18. The title is New Orleans. My comments follow:

When I was visiting New Orleans some years ago, I enjoyed Jackson Square and the St. Louis Cathedral. I photographed some of the art vendors outside of the square. Although my original photo had some interest, I felt it did not convey much of the feeling of New Orleans. So, in my creation I used my photo of the vendor, which included the Cathedral in the background, along with three other photos one of which was of a New Orleans street musician. The background photo was shot with a wide angle zoom lens at 27mm, 1/640, f/8 and ISO at 200.

A most clever and creative image. Really like the leading path.   Posted: 09/04/2020 13:16:46

Very creative and I love the semi-mirror way in which it has been made. Something very individual and an unusual concept. Well done!   Posted: 09/04/2020 13:54:33

I think this is a beautiful and very creative image. I'd like to see the colors of the trumpet player match the pastels around it though as if it's a mural painted by one artist with a consistent color pallet.   Posted: 09/04/2020 15:53:55

I think this is really well done, and it has a very 'soulful' feel to it. I agree that the side walls do feel like a mural, and it's nice that they are reflected, but not exact with more space and detail on the right hand side. The walls lead my eye in to the space in between. I'm a little disappointed that I can't really work out what is in the middle (unless I look at the original) but it does add to my curiosity. Its a nice way to add several elements to the image to tell a bigger story.   Posted: 09/13/2020 06:37:34

Very colourful image and strong composition with the central path. I woner if you have another musician in your collection that you could substitute for the left had side?   Posted: 09/14/2020 03:42:52

I am not convinced about the mirroring of the right and left hand sides but can't suggest an improvement. I must say though that I like the original.   Posted: 09/25/2020 08:39:19
