About the Image(s)
My July offering is Beyond the sea. When we were in Kefalonia I took a rather drab seaside shot (Original), with the intention of trying to create something like the old travel posters that the railways used to produce in the 1920 / 30's. After much use of the magic wand, polygon lasso, and rectangular marquee tools, I block filled with various colours, and cloned out the imperfections.
Regards, Mike

Sure do like this ! Very strong colors and design. Makes me want to see more of your images with this treatment! The addition of the birds is definitely a positive.......   Posted: 07/09/2017 15:14:00

Mike I think this is so original. You took this mundane shot and made it a WOW! Well done!   Posted: 07/10/2017 15:33:09

Thanks Barbara. Your feedback is a great encouragement.   Posted: 07/11/2017 00:22:50
The reduction of the elements to their simplest shapes of featureless colour works very well. The effects of minimalism are very pleasing to the eye and need nothing added or taken away. Much work for much use and much reward in the finished product. Certainly could be one of a coming series.
If I had a tiny niggle it would be the colour of the birds. They would show better for a change in the colour hue or value.   Posted: 07/11/2017 09:07:57

For me a great image except for the green blob of the tree which isn't tree-like enough IMHO. I don't mind the birds as they are.   Posted: 07/14/2017 09:14:51
