About the Image(s)

This is another lockdown piece which was fun to do but maybe is still not quite hitting the mark - but I’m very open to suggestions. The original image was of this man in a yellow shirt with yellow hair, standing at a bus stop looking at a kind of flash car. So the story for me was how much he would like to have a car like that and not have to travel by bus. But the problem was that he was rather far away from the car and I hadn’t captured the whole of the car in this grab shot.
So in this crazy lockdown time, I re-imagined the image. The man on his own was ok but the car and the background were not. So I rebulit the car in Photoshop making it bigger (and in so doing created a totally new model) and then I painted it yellow to match his shirt and hair to make another link. I also had to add more background and try to make that look like it was fairly natural.
There are still things that don’t work for me with it but it was fun to do. Be interested to hear how it can be improved or whether it’s not worth more effort
The original was taken on Fuji XT1 1/125 f11 at ISO 800

Honestly, I like it but find that it is a two-part image that causes one to cruise from one element to the other and back and forth. And I must say the starbursts in the mirrors is unnatural to a fault in my opinion. I admire greatly all the work that went into it, and most of the result. All the explanation helps to understand what was intended.   Posted: 06/06/2020 19:39:05

"Having some kinda fun, Peter?" You may have a future prototype for some car company here! Looks as if the guy is trying to relive his youth with this sports car. I do appreciate all you did to finish the image. I think you got all you could from this.   Posted: 06/09/2020 13:45:45

Great job rebuilding the car - and the background for the car as well. I like the yellow theme, hair foliage and car. Steering wheel both sides - global model or drivers training?   Posted: 06/09/2020 18:31:57

A very good friend of mine has just acquired a Jaguar like the original. I am not sure your version would make production, they are experimenting with driverless never mind dual control. A fun picture with some car full work on it.
50 years ago I was an apprentice at Jaguar as was my friend.   Posted: 06/13/2020 08:45:49

Good work on your "Creative Altered Reality" creation. The man and the car are too severely separated, especially with the bus stop metal work. A lot of nice elements here but the starbursts on the mirrors may be a bit overdone.   Posted: 06/13/2020 09:17:25

Glenn thanks for the comments. Sadly, you are right. The separation of the man and car are just too great but it was fun changing it. But the starbursts on the mirror were nothing do with me as that was there as the sun hit the top of the wing mirror and just seemed to make the car a kind of attention-seeker. But of course when I copied the left to the right it duplicated it which perhaps is a bit too much!
