About the Image(s)

Have you ever looked at chopped onion rings on a salad tray? Their psychedelic rings always capture my attention. Does it mesmerise you too?

A creative shot with interesting colors and shapes. Has an abstract feel.   Posted: 01/04/2020 13:19:06

Pleased that I had guessed the subject before identified. Very nice feel of motion and drama. Shame to consume it after using it in such engaging work.   Posted: 01/04/2020 18:02:11

My eyes are watering. I like the repetition and the brightness range. How did you set this up? They appear to be lit from behind.   Posted: 01/06/2020 07:20:48
Yes sir. I used my phone as the source of back light.   Posted: 01/06/2020 12:51:07

Thinking way out of the box here, Udayan. A simple veggie sliced and photographed. I'm not sure what your light source was but I did find the uneven sections of bright almost over-exposed areas competing with the darker better defined ones. Obviously you could try this again and try to compensate for the lighting difference.

You are right sir. I used my phone for the back light. I will re-take once again. Thank you for your feedback.   Posted: 01/06/2020 12:50:35

Sir? So polite - please can call me, "Joe."
Sir happily retired almost twenty years ago.

Looking forward to seeing more of your work. . .   Posted: 01/06/2020 13:29:12

Fascinating patterns and a beautiful colour. Simple but very effective. I think you have got the composition just right with the corners acting as 'stops' to the encroaching larger segment from top left. And yes, the only downside is the over bright white top left. Good to see a macro shot in this month's images.   Posted: 01/07/2020 04:29:01

So simple yet so effective. The technique you used with the light on your phone is also simple but very effective. I like the colour in this image , but I also wonder what it would look like in monochrome.   Posted: 01/12/2020 05:33:55
