Such a good bug presented here. If only the background did not so greatly compete with the main subject. It might benefit from good crop, cone-down, and curves adjustments.   Posted: 12/03/2019 15:57:42

Welcome back, Udayan. I did see some your work in other places - kudos to you. Once again I echo Dick's thoughts about a tighter crop to eliminate the distracting background. Also there is a lot of open area in the upper left which would be eliminated with the crop. I added my resulting image with the crop and some lessening of the saturation   Posted: 12/04/2019 09:19:46

Great colours in this and sharp. Would agree with the crops suggested and the toning down of some of the highlights.   Posted: 12/05/2019 07:48:27

I like the colors of the bug and how they are complemented by the flowers and the branch. I agree with comments above on highlights and cropping. Its hard to do a good macro head on because depth of field is so shallow. You did a good job of getting the head, legs and antenna in focus under those circumstances. There is something unusual to my eye in the out of focus background. Instead of simply being blurred, I see a bright halo - especially around some of the flowers. I can't recall seeing that in other macro images.   Posted: 12/08/2019 13:55:00

A brilliant bug well captured. But I have to concur with the comments about the background, we can not choose the background for images such as this, but the suggestions others have made are good.I think the background brightness of the original is better I like Joes crop.   Posted: 12/12/2019 05:37:42

A great macro shot of a colorful bug. The depth of field is quite good for an f/9 aperture. I think the version Joe presented with the crop and subduing of the background is a big improvement.   Posted: 12/12/2019 11:13:44
