About the Image(s)

Taken 2018 04/08 08:06 hours, Goleta Slough, Goleta, CA, USA. Canon EOS 5DS R Camera with Canon EF 100-400 f/4-5.6 SL IS USM lens. 400mm, 1/1000 sec, f/9.5, ISO 3200. Hand held.
I don’t remember the post processing but it clearly included sharpening, perhaps too much, and noise reduction considering the ISO of 3200. I no longer have the original.

Great shot of the GBH interaction. Your post-processing looks to me like the photo was turned into an oil painting. If that was purposeful, it's an interesting effect.   Posted: 01/06/2021 16:13:04

It is very difficult to photograph birds in flight and your exposure looks good. I can't give much feedback without seeing the original.   Posted: 01/10/2021 10:40:35

Walter, I do love the effect you used on this image. It does indeed look like a beautiful painting. The colors and grace of the birds add to effect you achieved. I think the two birds along with the look and texture of the background would be better if it was simplified. I am wondering if choosing one bird and placing it in a portrait layout would tell a more powerful story.   Posted: 01/11/2021 16:16:22

My first impression is that it is a painting. I liked the composition. The sharpening appears to be a little on higher side making more white spots in the image. Details on the wings are missing too. Terry's composition also looks good.   Posted: 01/16/2021 12:32:18
