About the Image(s)

On an afternoon walk I've seen this winter scene. I liked this branch above the stream. I've made water milky with long shutter.

Crop, selective burn, contrast improvement with levels and curves, auto color correction everything in Photoshop Elements.

Ice covered branches are special. You captured a lovely one with a good backdrop. To my eye, I would like to see the branch fill up more of the image and a bit less of the milky water. I like the way you captured the water running over the brown vegetation. This might might a good abstract. Have you considered coping a bit more?   Posted: 06/04/2020 19:12:17

This is really lovely. It is quite dramatic. I sort of agree with Bunny that some of the white at the bottom ought to be cropped. The water is bright and there is too much of it and that takes away from the wonderful ice covered branch. If I could suggest one change---that can't be done, I would have liked to see just a bit of separation between the bottom of the icy branch and the blurred white water. Getting this branch with those browns and greys of the cascade would have been really magical.

I still wish this was mne. It is a fine shot.   Posted: 06/07/2020 18:40:36

Wonderful image. The background is excellent. The slow shutter speed has given a smooth flow to the stream. I too agree that a little cropping of the lower can be done. To me, Bunny's cropping is too tight.   Posted: 06/16/2020 13:37:58

It is a beautiful image. I would crop it differently, because the top of the waterfall adds so much.   Posted: 06/16/2020 13:38:52

Great shot. I probably would not have noticed it and if I had, I might not of had the insight to photograph it as you did. I would not change anything.   Posted: 06/17/2020 13:32:17

Good composition. I like the original without cropping making the falls more of the image and the ice-covered branches to the right to balance. Good choice of shutter speed.

Great image! Clear, sharp, dramatic. I do like the inclusion of the waterfall. What I might try is to add a bit more of an angle to the very top of the branch. It is a majestic image worth exploring different versions until you find the one that works for you.   Posted: 06/24/2020 15:07:41
