About the Image(s)

Taken with my Nikon D 5200 on Manual Mode, Lens 18-55 Focal Length 24 mm, Speed 1/200 sec., F/8, ISO 640. Post editing was done in Photoshop and Nic. Editing Process: adjusted contrast, white balance, highlights, clarity, de-haze. Used the Curves adjustment to achieve the vintage treatment. Eliminated some of the background distractions including the rear and side window. Used Nic program to further develop vintage look. Adjusted the green grass so that it is more muted.

My questions: Should I have tried to get more blue in the sky? Did eliminating the rear and side window compromise the integrity of the image?

Old trucks are terrific subjects. The treatment of the image, for me, has a vintage feeling that complements your subject. I think eliminating the windows and adding the reflection to the side window work well, as does the removal of the pole on the left. The sky looks blown out, so you might try adding blue as you suggested, as I think the sky needs something.

I like that you removed the car on the right. The cloned area, to my eye, looks cloned. I think that's beacause of the repeating white pattern as well as the unnaturally recurring wood piles. You might consider a tighter crop on the right side to elminate the need to clone. I think you would still have a attractive composition.   Posted: 11/17/2019 14:11:08
