About the Image(s)
This image was taken in April, 2015 near a small hill station named Vagamon. The Sun was about to set down on the hills and part of the reflection was visible on the dam catchment area. These small boats were used by local people for fishing and crossing to other side of the forest. Camera Fuji FinePix 3D W3, ISO-400, shutter speed 1/100 sec, f/3.7. Adjusted the levels, saturation, color and unsharp mask using photoshop. This is the left image from the 3D pair.

Dear Dr. Nair, I find your image very pleasing, with good composition, cropping, and selection of a natural and informative subject matter. I suggest your finished image is a bit too much color-and-brightness enhanced, and has lost the sunset quality. Perhaps half as much enhancement would preserve the mood of the original. Here is my rough suggestion.   Posted: 10/01/2018 19:37:11

Thank you Stephen for the suggestion. Will try to reduce the color and brightness of the image in future use.   Posted: 10/05/2018 00:24:53

What a lovely image! The picturesque boats are diagonally placed, a pleasing composition, and lead the eye back to the mountains. I would tone down the greens in the background - they don't look natural to me - but otherwise I like the color and brightness. It doesn't have to look like sunset, because it's not clear that it is, except for the yellow reflection which I would remove. It looks to me like a bright and lovely afternoon.   Posted: 10/05/2018 13:56:21

Thank you. It was evening about 5.00pm and the Sun was going down on the hills.   Posted: 10/05/2018 14:18:26

I feel it is the simplicity and tranquility of this setting that makes it such a great image. Your enhancements allow us to really see the character of the wood on both boats. I do agree that I could like to see green in the mountains and countryside a bit toned down. The current brightness and over saturation of the background seems to fight the simplicity of the color and character of the boats.   Posted: 10/08/2018 09:59:17

Ok, will try to reduce the color. Thanks for the critical evaluation.   Posted: 10/08/2018 17:09:57
Beautiful shot. I agree the saturation is a little over done, however, I think this is a great "Nature" shot with the hand of man. I would not clone out the reflection... when I look at images I like the idea of seeing what the photographer saw at the time the photo was taken.   Posted: 10/12/2018 11:41:51

This is a peaceful scene. The orange reflection on the left is a distraction. I like the saturation adjustments.   Posted: 10/15/2018 18:15:14

Interesting boats in the forground and background. Oversaturated white sky on the left catches my attention. I would crop it out. I would crop also some water on the right, which doesn't add interest.
The sun reflection seems more a reflection of a light. I would at least decrease saturation and burn it. You can also burn the river on the right side not to be so bright.
