Close up of a winter type of plant or lettuce. My attraction is the lefthand top corner bulb sort of thing, no clue why, but it is interesting

Hi Jeri, this is a very interesting shot. I find it fascinating because of the unusual shapes which are emphasized by the choice of a close-up composition. The highlights appear a little blown out, could you darken them a bit and regain some of their detail?   Posted: 02/07/2021 14:36:08

Hi Jeri, it looks like it could crawl out of the frame any minute! The light and shadows
bring the structure out beautifully. I agree with Billy about the highlights. It looks so three-dimensional, and I like the composition, with the mysterious dark cavity in the center.   Posted: 02/07/2021 15:03:32

Good idea to show us a macro approach to lettuce. Probably a lot better the photograph than eat! Your composition is good, but I do have to agree about the highlights. Sometimes a polarizer works well for this. If not, the Highlight tool in ACR or LR. There is one very bright leaf in the upper middle, which could be improved by darkening. This is a nice creative effort to look at something a bit differently.   Posted: 02/19/2021 17:13:35

Hi Jeri: Nice image. Yes, fix the highlights! For more abstract colorful fun go to curves and reverse the endpoints and the moving other points along the line and see what you get.   Posted: 02/26/2021 13:21:03
