About the Image(s)

Both images are different and taken with the new iPhone. The first taken with the telephoto lens (52 mm) getting close physically as I could. The effect seems to be similar to a macro shot. All post processing done in Topaz Studio 2 and Luminar. The second image was taken with the Extra Wide (13mm) Angle lens to give comparison to the close up image.

I finally got it. Yes, you showed the versatility of having iPhone with 2 lenses. Nice lilies and seeing to find that hopper. The hopper and surrounding flower are acceptably sharp. Rick, I'm wondering if you brushed in small and med. details using mask to the hopper? I thought there might be more details in the head area, but have to admit to never looking at hopper from NewMexico high country.   Posted: 09/05/2020 18:40:50

Rick, I appreciate the photo especially much as I have just been struggling through a macro lesson in the photography course and have realized how awfully difficult it is to get the things you want in focus. You have an amazing depth of field and sharpness, and the composition and colors are beautiful.
Are you using some sort of support system for the iPhone or just hold it in hand?   Posted: 09/10/2020 14:08:50

Kirsti: I'm in the first stages of experimenting with this new iPhone and it was hand held. They are incredible small camera-machines one can carry around comfortably .   Posted: 09/10/2020 16:32:56

Good examples of the new lenses on your iPhone. The close-up looks quite sharp to me and it is interesting that it was from a telescopic length held so close. That certainly gives a wide range of possibilities for the new lenses.
I like the golden color of the grasshopper, almost glowing. My eyes are not great but I can see that it is very detailed and looks sharp to me. Yes, how much easier it must be to carry an iPhone rather than my heavy D750 plus a macro lens plus a general zoom lens.   Posted: 09/19/2020 15:02:27

Rick, really neat photo! Aren't cellphone cameras amazing! Love the sharpness of the grasshopper, one could just reach out and touch him. Flowers surrounding him are the perfect frame.   Posted: 09/21/2020 11:05:34
