Sagebrush Symphony by Joan Field, FPSA

January 2020 - Sagebrush Symphony

About the Image(s)

I used two different images. The first was of the sagebrush, the second was on a set of autumn trees in yellows and golds. I reversed the colors on the second and put the two together trying all of the blend modes to find the one I liked the best. Believe it or not, I think it was Pin Light. It gave interesting swatches of blue to the sagebrush.

Very creative, great effect. This image would also do well a a texture/background. That said I would blend the color in the upper right and left so there isn't a cutoff line.   Posted: 01/12/2020 13:15:16

Very creative textured image. I would of tried flipping the image, and you probably tried it also but I find the left sagebrush more appealing. It seems like you have 2 different areas of interest, 2 textures and 2 blues. You could present as attached or connect the two sage brushes together with blue creating one composition.   Posted: 01/12/2020 13:53:21

Bob,
Thanks for the idea. I like what you did to extend it. I'm not sure I'll do anything else to it right now. I've shown it in Pictorial, but not in Creative in my club. I'll try that and see what happens.
Thanks again.   Posted: 01/25/2020 13:11:00

Joan I love this abstract work of art! So many textures and patterns. I could see it as a texture by adding a little Radiance and softening the image.   Posted: 01/27/2020 16:54:47
